The Windows 10 Home to Pro upgrade unlocks Windows 10 Pro on a PC that already runs activated Windows 10 Home. There's no reinstall and no USB drive, and your files and apps stay where they are. Enter the key, restart, and you have BitLocker, Remote Desktop, Hyper-V and Group Policy.
Microsoft ended Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025. Home users can get one extra year of security updates through Microsoft's Extended Security Updates (ESU) programme, until October 13, 2026. Windows 10 keeps working after that, but without security fixes.
