What we collect

• Order details: your name, email address, billing address and the products you buy.
• Payment information: payments are handled by our payment processors (such as Stripe). We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the card type, but we do not see or store your full card number.
• Support messages: anything you send us when you contact support, including screenshots.
• Technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your data

• To process your order and deliver your licence key by email.
• To provide customer support, refunds and replacements.
• To prevent and investigate fraud and misuse of our service.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
• To understand how our website is used and improve it.
• To send you marketing emails, only where you have agreed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on the following legal bases: performing our contract with you, our legal obligations, our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business, and your consent where we ask for it.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the store, and only as far as they need it to do so:

• Shopify, which hosts our store and processes orders.
• Payment processors, such as Stripe, which handle payments securely.
• Email and customer-support tools we use to deliver orders and answer your questions.
• Analytics providers, such as Google Analytics, which help us understand website traffic. You can learn more in Google's privacy policy.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights and prevent fraud.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and some of our service providers process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal data from the UK or EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses used by our providers.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep the store working (for example, to remember your cart), to remember your preferences, and for analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the store may not work without them.

How long we keep data

We keep order and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting laws require. Support messages and other data are kept only for as long as they are useful for the purpose they were collected for.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent at any time. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@microsoftsoftwareswap.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

Our store uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and payments are processed by PCI-compliant providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Children

Our store is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
